Taryn Delanie Smith is widely recognized for her hysterical videos as Denise, Heaven’s receptionist, adorned with a light colored towel on her head and a white robe with a blue sky and clouds in the background. In one of her TikTok skits, she fields phone calls from pretentious callers expecting to speak directly to God or people calling to inquire why they haven’t received their wings. It’s hilarious!

My algorithm led me to videos with Taryn and her friend, Tiffani Singleton, infectiously catcalling other women on the streets of New York City with kind compliments on their style and beauty on TikTok. It’s so heartwarmingly comical!

Then, I stumbled upon clips of their podcast, “We’re Your Girls.” This podcast is the joy I didn’t know I needed in my life. Their infectious laughter and inside jokes invite listeners into intimate conversations between two good girlfriends living in New York. Oh my goddess, they are funny.
When I thought the podcast couldn’t get any better, Taryn and Tiffani reserved episodes for their romantasy (romance and fantasy) book club. What a joy! I listened to the April 25th episode where they discussed Quicksilver by Callie Hart. Although I haven’t read the book, it’s refreshing to hear two educated women discuss the smuttest parts of a romantasy novel and debate which famous actors would play particular characters. It’s delightful.
